Server is now in the laundry room
My main webserver is now in the laundry room. So as you view this page, you are now sitting next to my dryer and across from my washing machine. This will hopefully let me sleep without hearing any buzzing noises anymore.
I'm quite worried about the new location of this server. First of all, laundry rooms have a historical precedent to flood (this happened several times when I was a kid) and electronics and flood-waters are not friends. Second of all, laundry rooms have a lot of lint which seems close enough to dust to bother a computer. Finally, laundry rooms tend to get hot when drying laundry, which also doesn't help your everyday webserver. Google has both a laundry room and many webservers and if you ask any Google employee, these rooms are quite disjoint.
