Thoughts (Aug-Sept 2005)

  • (September 30, 2005) So, I took a month off of writing in this blog, so instead of trying to catch people up, I will no longer be concerned with the past and focus on the future. This quarter, I am TAing CS 242, Programming Languages. Its only the first week, but I'm learning that TAing is a considerable time commitment. I'm also planning on working on Prof. Aiken's Saturn project, which I'll assume will also be a sizable time commitment. So this should be a busy quarter. Its been brought to my attention that my website is full of bugs, so I'll try to fix them. On some pages (like this one), the 4 buttons on the left tend to space themselves out. I would really like to fix that bug. I also want to add a snazzy banner. So much to do... I get older in 2 days, which is kinda exciting.

  • (August 30, 2005) I'm still here in Seattle in spite of the fact that all my intern friends have returned to their respective colleges. This means I get to have my own office! Of course it also means that there is nobody to waste time with in my office, so perhaps I'm doing more work this way. We splent most of last week partying, playing StarCraft, eating great food, watched movies and hung out a lot. It was a great summer with all those people.

  • (August 14, 2005) So the biggest thought I've had is that this thoughts page is getting to long, so its time to add links to an archive, I guess by month. So a lot has happend in the past two weeks. I have been to Mount Saint Helens, which blew my mind and far exceded my expectations. I also saw two Mariner's games at Safeco Field, which was a lot of fun and a beautiful ballpark. I jet-skied, which is incredibly thrilling and very similar to jet-boating in New Zealand, except you lack an experienced guide driving. This next weekend is the Dave concert at the Gorge, which I'm very much looking forward to.
